Liberty University Graduation Weekend

This past weekend we made a three hour trip to Lynchburg VA to see my oldest daughter graduate with her masters degree in Human Services!

To say that this place is huge is an understatement!

This t-shirt fits her to a T because u know she will impact the world in a good way! She already has just based on how her former students parents act when they see her!

The baccalaureate service Friday evening.

There were so many people (close to 20,000 graduates) that weekend. We actually had to stay over an hour and a half away from Liberty that night because the hotels were booked solid for Saturday's event! My mom was a trooper and drove the entire trip!

This is me on the back of a gulf cart the morning of the event!

My view as I held in for dear life! And to think I always wanted to ride in one! Now I can mark it off my bucket list and never do it again ! lol

I have never seen so many people (well I have), and although I can't imagine having to coordinate such a large event I know there has to be a better way of doing it! For the most part the volunteers were nice find polite (with the exception of one very rude and cranky old man) but you could tell the young volunteers were not prepared for the 30,000 plus people who decinded onto the property that day!

It just was not very organized and I kept thinking Disney could teach them a few things about corralling people! Yes, my brain went there! lol

I was especially discouraged by how those who were handicapped where treated when it was time to shuttle them to the second ceremony where the graduates names would actually be read!

It was a long day and these pictures show the go trade between when we started the program and when it actually ended. Many people collected their "diploma" and then left! Q was at the end of the list so we sat through nearly the entire event!

And we represented well! Family as well as friends from her church traveled the three hours to see her walk across the stage! I'm so proud of this young lady!!

Like I said...Liberty is a beautiful campus and I'm glad we came to support our daughter but honestly I am hoping know one in the family decides to go there again! lol
