Duke of Gloucester Street

My bestfriend!!

Wouldn't (couldn't) do life without him by my side!

I highly reccomend visiting Williamsburg if your ever in the area! There is nothing like seeing history in the flesh!  No textbook can give you that experience!!

Merchants Square

We ended our day with a bit of shipping at Merchants Square. Followed by a stroll down Duke of Gloucester Street, before catching the bus back to the welcome center and finishing my birthday at my daughters apartment for cupcakes and pizza!

There is so much to see and do in Williamsburg and its near to impossible to do it all in one day! I've lived in this area most of my life, visited several times and I still have not seen it all!!

Williamsburg Museum part 8

By far one of my favorite exibits, just because I've always dreamed of having a doll house!! lol

And this is the mega dollhouse of all doll houses!! lol

This one reminded me so much of a metal dollhouse my mom had as a child!!

Williamsburg Museum part 7

Let's face facts!!! They just don't put the detail and work into furniture that they use to!! Machines cannot replace the hands in work of true craftsmen!

Williamsburg Museum part 6

The Indian Turquose jewelry was gorgeous!

Williamsburg Museum part 5

The history behind the women who created these quilts was fascinating. I wish I could have gotten better pics of the descriptions!

The square quilts reminded me of one that my grandmother made for me as an infant. And yes, I still have it today.

The detail in this one was just anazing!!
